If you think you have got what it takes to become a top model, follow these tips.
- Don’t waste your time on expensive photographs. We are able to tell from looking at a holiday snap whether we would like to see you for an interview.
- Normally you do need to be at least 5’ 7” or above for photographic work, if you are a female and below 6’ 2” if male. However, sometimes a smaller person can get lucrative work doing commercials. Also we have a ’Plus’ section catering to the larger sized market (size 16-22), so if in doubt, ask our advice.
- If you are offered an interview, make sure you keep the appointed time. It’s not necessary to wear a lot of make up, but come nicely dressed. If you are not comfortable coming on your own, do feel free to bring a guardian, such as your mother.
- Think about why you want to be a model. If you think the work is all glamour, believe us, you are wrong! Great models are professionals, rushing from casting to casting, hauling huge bags of accessories, fighting for each job against lots of other beautiful models– you have to have confidence, because you will get knocks. The rewards can be very good but it takes work and a positive mental attitude.
- So, you finally make it and the money rolls in. We say, don’t spend it all! Get good investment advice and prepare for your second career. Many famous models have gone on to take acting lessons or have become photographers, even bookers, as an example.
